Spooner Row Recreation Ground

In 1938, the Spooner Row Recreation Ground and car park was purchased for the use of Spooner Row residents by Wymondham Town Council’s predecessor, Wymondham Urban District Council.  It has two entrances; one situated at Station Road where the car park can be accessed, and the other from School Lane.

During the summer of  2003, a range of new equipment was installed on the Recreation Ground.  This included a tarmac pad for skateboarding, football goal posts, a basketball ring and a play area for young children.  The new equipment was funded by grant awards received from Wymondham Town Council, WREN and the Norfolk Rural Community Council.

Currently, the management of the Recreation Ground and car park is organised by Wymondham Town Council.  Users of the Recreation Ground are local residents, Spooner Row School including Acorns and Silfield United Football Club, who can be seen regularly playing on the site.
